Description

Participants will gain competencies in working with children and adolescents who are gender non-conforming, as well as working with parents of clients to best support and understand experiences. Participants will also be able to better understand how hormones impact the mental health of clients of all ages with gender dysphoria. Knowledge and skills gained can be applied in both office and community-based settings, as well as with individuals, couples, and families.

Objectives
  1. Discuss working with children and their parents to explore gender identity concerns and strategies of support.
  2. Discuss working with adolescents who identify as gender non-conforming or who are questioning gender identity.
  3. Detail the impact of hormones, in both puberty and gender affirming care, on clients who experience gender dysphoria.
