The training will provide in-depth training on the newly released DSM-5-TR including new diagnoses; discussion the major differences between the DSM-5 & DSM-5-TR and how these changes impact how we diagnosis individuals and discuss these diagnosis with families. It will also include clinical considerations when diagnosing children using the DSM-5-TR. 


1. Participants will be able to name changes between the DSM-5 and the DSM-5-TR

2. Participants will be able to describe the diagnostic criteria for Suicidal Behavior Disorder, Non-Suicidal Self-Injury, and Prolonged Grief Disorder 

3. Participants will be able to describe clinical considerations of diagnosing children/adolescents

Instructor Bios

Robyn Janssen, PsyD, LP, CEDS

Robyn is a Licensed Psychologist who incorporates evidence based therapies such as CBT, DBT and ERP to help clients learn and utilize new skills to elicit change in their lives. She demonstrates kindness, compassion, humor and creativity to individualize therapy sessions. Her previous experience includes working in adolescent residential treatment and day treatment; hospital settings; Eating Disorders residential, PHP, IOP and OP treatment; private practice; and an adjunct professor.

Kelly Pieper, MSW, LICSW, IMH-E

Kelly Pieper is a clinician and supervisor specializing in work with children and families. Within this work, Kelly takes special interest in the early childhood period and has been endorsed as an Infant and Early Childhood Mental HealthProfessional through the MN Association for Children's Mental Health. Kelly is also a rostered Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) provider and supervisor. She had extensive training in early childhood trauma, attachment, as well as specific training in working with children and families on the adoption/permanency spectrum. Finally, Kelly is a consultant with theDepartment of Human Services and provides reflective consultation and training to early childhood care providers throughout the Twin Cities Metro areas.
