Interventions demonstrated will highlight how to use play therapy in a telehealth setting. Different interventions will be presented that will apply to individuals of different ages as well as families.
Neal Petersen, LMHC, LPCC, RPT
Neal Petersen has been working in the mental health field for over 12 years. He started as a behavioral health intervention service provider and then moved on to become a mental health counselor. He spent over 11 years working as a therapist and operations supervisor at New Direction’s Counseling services in Waterloo, Iowa. In December of 2021 he began work at Ellie Mental Health in Rochester Minnesota which is where he currently works. Neal has had extensive experience utilizing play therapy, parenting, family therapy, and managing cases involving DHS/JCS. He has written on the subjects of using tabletop games and video games in play therapy. He has taught classes on these subjects as well, through the league of extraordinary play therapists. He is a member of this organization as well as the association for play therapists.
